Loved, loved, loved this series of “If improv has taught me anything . . .” stories. It killed when you performed it in NY at the Magnet Theater, and it continues to kill in this litcast. Well worth revisiting.

Just how big was that woodpecker, now? Are we talking pileated –? Ivory-billed –?

Many thanks for that comment, Dragonmom. And may I say, on behalf of the group and ourselves — well, on behalf of myself, TBH — how gratified we are — I am — to have you comment on “If Improv…”.

That woodpecker would have been, if I had to guess, somewhere between 7 and 9 inches tall. Bigger than a downy, probably; not as exotic as a pileated or ivory-billed. Just right for the story, though.

Memories of Joe–very moving. Really nicely done. He had a sweet nature and a loving heart, and a fucked-up life.
As I think you said at his funeral/shiva: He did the best he could with what he was given.

    xoxo
    Get home safe.

Thanks, Dragonmom. Gone but not forgotten. He is missed.
